Jeremy is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in adolescent therapy. Jeremy has experience providing individual and family therapy and has been recognized as an expert in El Paso County. Jeremy is passionate about creating therapeutic approaches that are specifically tailored to meet your individual needs. When Jeremy is not at the office, you can find him on a trail with his dog Rowdy, playing chess, or rock climbing with friends.

Samantha Sasala, Therapist; BA, MA, LPCC

Sam has been with Colorado Motion since 2021 focusing on working with teens and young adults.   She has a passion for the outdoors and helping people learn more about themselves and how to cope with difficult circumstances. Sam has lived in New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, and now Colorado! She loves rock climbing (which is how she met her husband), hiking, and skiing, but also enjoys playing board games, Taylor Swift, cooking, and coffee. She has four cats (yes, that is way too many), two dogs that she will show you too many pictures of if you ask!

Lexi Root, Therapist; LCSW

Lexi is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker through DORA and has been working with youth in El Paso County for almost ten years. When Lexi isn’t working with youth and families she can be found, trail running with one of her pups , kayaking, mountain biking, exploring the great outdoors with her husband and toddler, or tapping into her more creative side. Lexi takes great value in coming alongside youth and families to assist in having them achieve their goals on a case by case basis through the therapeutic process.

Brian Safaie, Therapist; BS, MA, LPCC

Brian is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. His open and non-judgmental approach focuses on building a strong therapeutic relationship to help clients access their unique potential for personal growth. Originally from California, Brian has extensive experience working with children and adolescents in both mentorship and teaching roles. After spending the past three years teaching middle school in Pueblo, Colorado, he moved to Colorado Springs to follow his passion for promoting the social and emotional well-being of adolescents and young people. When he is not in the therapy room, Brian can be found on the mats training Brazilian jiu-jitsu or in the mountains on a multi-day backpacking trip.

Spencer Drury, Peer Mentor; BA

Spencer is a peer mentor with Colorado Motion and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling and a minor in psychology at Grand Canyon University. He was born and raised in Colorado Springs and is thrilled to be back in his hometown. Outside of work, Spencer’s main hobbies and interests are art, sports, video games, hiking, music, longboarding, and movies.

Katie Heubisch, Therapist; MA, LPCC

Katie is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in the state of Colorado. She is passionate about creating a safe environment for children and teens to explore, grow, and heal. Katie has experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life changes, and identity issues. She believes in a gentle, empathetic approach that can include mindfulness, creativity and play, cognitive-behavioral, and narrative interventions. When she’s not at Colorado Motion, she can be found trail running, writing poetry, reading, or grabbing a coffee with friends.

Seth Tucker, Therapist and Peer Mentor; BA, MA, LPCC

Seth is a Counselor Candidate and believes that the key to the counseling process is a solid therapeutic relationship where the client connects securely to their therapist. Seth works towards creating this relationship through experiential tools like board games, hiking, rock climbing, and card games and providing a safe space for people to engage well and feel unconditionally seen. He believes that everyone is in process and that no matter someone's past, healing is possible. He is honored to be a part of that healing process. His interests include hiking, fly fishing, reading, any kind of game, rock climbing, and anything else outside!

Sarah Massey, Child and Family Therapy Intern; BA

Sarah grew up in Colorado. She attended CU Boulder for her undergraduate and is currently getting her Masters at Northcentral University in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in child and adolescence. She has a passion for the great outdoors and athletics. Her goal is to help inspire children, teens and families to develop the tools to be the best version of themselves. She believes in doing things differently and connecting with others by doing something together outside. When Sarah is not busy with Colorado Motion you can find her in the mountains with her two dogs, husband and kiddo or on the volleyball court.

Candler English, Peer Mentor; BFA

Candler is a peer mentor and a Georgia native. He received his BFA from School of Visual Arts NYC in 2018 and relocated to Colorado Springs in 2021. One of his primary goals is to foster growth through building authentic relationships, and believes that healing comes through meaningful connection and community. Candler takes immense pride in helping clients and their families achieve their goals and understands how impactful a positive influence in a young person’s life can be. When Candler isn’t at Colorado Motion, he can be found recording music, painting, collaging, or hiking.

Josiah Cole, Peer Mentor

Josiah is pursuing a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Music Composition and Sound Design at UCCS. He loves making music, hiking, adventuring, skiing, and everything else you can find in Colorado. Josiah believes that relationships are the path to connection, which are not found just in mentorship, but also extends to his friends, family, and dog. Josiah believes in the importance of experiential therapy which he believes can reach areas where other approaches are sometimes limited. Josiah has a 3-year-old black lab that holds it down for him and his house. On weekdays when he is not working or in school, he can be found at the park or on a walk with his dog.

Rebecca Hainsworth, Director of Non-Clinical Operations and Mentoring Supervisor; BA

Rebecca is a proud Colorado Springs native and graduate of UCCS. She has a passion for the outdoors, creative arts and people. Rebecca has worked with youth organizations and mentoring entities in the Springs for over 10 years now. She is passionate about helping families and young people in El Paso County who are going through a challenging time. If she is not hard working at Colorado Motion, you can find her playing Spikeball with friends, exploring the mountains with her husband, baking sourdough, painting, weight lifting or learning to embroider.

Eric Peterson, Therapist; MA, MSW, LSW

Eric works mainly with 11-18 year old males. Born and raised in Chicago, Eric moved to Colorado in 2017. Eric has been in Social Work since 2012 and has worked with church groups, street programs, and correctional work. Eric used to work with youth corrections in New Zealand for three years until moving back to the states to continue his work with struggling youth. Eric is trained in TF-CBT, CBT. He also works as the school counselor at Woodland Park Middle school, High school, and most recently partnering with Brad's House. Eric loves rock climbing, working out, canyoneering, basketball, biking, frisbee golf, and hiking, but also enjoys watching movies, writing, and slowly building a shoe collection.

Justin Kraft, Therapist; MA, RP, LPCC

In addition to being a registered psychotherapist for the state of Colorado, Justin is currently pursuing a Masters in clinical mental health at Adams State University. He thoroughly enjoys finding positive results through experiential approaches and has experience mentoring teens in a variety of settings such as church groups, the skateboard community, being a CASA advocate, and being site leader through the Alternative Spring Break Program. Born in Kansas, he has lived in Colorado since the 6th grade and loves to mountain bike, volunteer, and to explore nature with his wife and 2 kids.

Joy Kaltenthaler, Therapist; LSW

Joy is a licensed social worker in the state of Colorado with a concentration in mental health and addictions. Joy has experience working in inpatient and outpatient settings as well as with groups, families, and individuals. Joy is passionate about working with adolescents and young adults and meeting them where they’re at in these pivotal years. Joy has an empathetic and compassionate approach to providing therapy and support while utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. Joy believes that you are the expert of your own experience and seeks to use a strengths-based approach in helping you to find creative solutions to overcoming life’s obstacles. Joy is newer to Colorado Springs after a recent move from Indianapolis and is enjoying every minute of mountain living. When she’s not in the office, you can find her hiking on the local trails, camping across the state, checking all of the National Parks off of her bucket list, making music, crafting up a storm, or practicing her dance and yoga moves.

Aunya Albinana, Admin Lead and Peer Mentor; BA

Aunya is currently pursuing a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UCCS. Aunya has been working at Colorado Motion mentoring at-risk youth since 2021, striving to help them learn vital life skills to prepare them for life's expected and unexpected challenges. She is passionate about the work she does and strives to support, guide, and encourage success in our youth's lives. Aunya values connections and helping others learn more about themselves authentically. In her free time, Aunya can be found spending time with family and friends, walking her dogs, or finding new coffee shops and restaurants around town.

Joshua Flores, Peer Mentor; BA

Joshua is a college graduate and former English Language Arts educator for students aged 10 through 18. Growing up in a small Texas border town, Joshua quickly found that he had to make his own entertainment and found such refuge in his twin passions: literature and skateboarding. A huge proponent of the power of both reading and physical activity, Joshua can usually be found with his nose in a book, hiking a nearby trail, writing fiction, or (most often) skateboarding at Memorial Park.

Allison Krcma, Therapist and Peer Mentor; BA, MSW

Allison is a former Air Force veteran who after completing her service immediately immersed herself in the field of mental health. She has experience working in mental health crisis centers, children’s hospitals, and other outpatient settings. Allison is currently pursuing a Masters in Social Work specializing in mental health and trauma. When Allison is not working in the field or studying, she enjoys spending her time outdoors white water rafting, fly fishing, or hiking with her husband and dog.

MacKenzie Allen, Intern Therapist; BS

MacKenzie is a Colorado native working as a clinical intern at Colorado Motion. She is pursuing her master’s degree in social work at UCCS. MacKenzie has experience working with teens in the inpatient and partial hospitalization levels of care. She enjoys working in a less controlled environment where relationships and experiences come naturally. She loves working with teens and exploring new places in Colorado Springs. MacKenzie meets you where you are and understands how anxiety and depression can be debilitating, and connects to nature to find peace in those times. MacKenzie enjoys spending as many hours as possible a day outside. She loves hiking, climbing, mountain biking, and hammocking. Her goal is to keep her Chaco tan all year long.
